This Privacy Policy explains how GoTalk ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you access our website and services. By using GoTalk, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. Who we are

GoTalk is an anonymous 1:1 voice chat service. Our contact email iscontact@gotalk.live.

2. What we collect

  • Connection data: IP address (for security, rate‑limiting, and coarse country lookup). We mask IPs for rate limiting (IPv4 /24, IPv6 /64) and do not persist full IPs beyond short, rolling technical logs.
  • Device and usage data: browser type, OS, timestamps, pages visited, referrers.
  • Consent data: your consent status and preferences for ads/analytics.
  • Voice data: handled peer‑to‑peer via WebRTC. We do not store audio. Temporary in‑memory processing may occur to connect sessions.
  • Chat messages: relayed for the duration of the session and not persisted after the call.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies/localStorage for essential operations (e.g., preferences) and, with consent where required, for analytics and advertising (e.g., Google AdSense). You can manage your choices via the consent banner or the footer "Consent" link.

4. Legal bases

Where applicable (EEA/UK), we rely on consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) for personalised advertising/analytics and on legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) for security, service operation, and non‑personalised measurement. You can withdraw consent at any time.

If enabled, we use Google AdSense to serve ads. Google may set cookies or use device identifiers to show personalised or non‑personalised ads depending on your choices. See Google's policies for details. We use simple, privacy‑minded analytics to understand aggregate usage.

We aim to maintain a safe environment. We may process limited information to detect and prevent abuse (e.g., spam, harassment), including temporary in‑memory checks and report handling. Repeated violations may result in temporary bans.

We retain minimal, masked technical logs for the shortest period necessary for security and troubleshooting (e.g., days, not months). We do not store audio recordings. Session data (like chat) is discarded after the call.

Your information may be processed outside your country. We take reasonable measures to protect it consistent with this Policy and applicable law.

9a. CCPA – Do Not Sell or Share

California residents may opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. You can enable “Do Not Sell or Share” in the consent settings (footer → Consent) or email us atcontact@gotalk.live. When enabled, we will serve only non‑personalised ads and limit data flows accordingly.

10. Children

GoTalk is for adults (18+). If we learn that a child has used the service without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete related data.
